Gum Care

A healthy tooth.
Plaque builds up ...
... gum and bone may begin to recede.
Sometimes the gum recedes with the bone and sometimes it doesn't.
Either way the tooth may become mobile.

Debris accumulates between the teeth.
If not removed, bacteria will develop and plaque will form.
Use the floss with a back and forth motion ...
... and with a vertical action until all the plaque is removed.
Work the floss gently under the gum.

Smoking has many affects on oral health.
Increased plaque, tartar and staining can occur.
Furring of the tongue (increasing bad breath) ...
...reduced blood flow to the gums ...
... which is an indicator of the same affect on the heart tissue.
Gums may recede ...
... tooth movement may occur ...
... tooth loss ...
... and even 'white spot'.

The TePe interdental brush is used to clean in between teeth.
Turning the brush on insertion will help access.
Used daily, it removes plaque and food debris where your usual brush cannot reach.
For spaces at the back of the mouth, bend the brush in a slight curve but never at right angles ...
... this will help you access the more difficult-to-reach areas.
A choice of 8 colour-coded sizes is available to help clean different sized spaces.

The TePe Proximal brush comes in 7 sizes for cleaning different sized spaces.
Click the brush open to insert the head ...
... and click down to secure.
Insert the head from the inside surfaces or outside surface of the teeth.
Use daily to remove plaque and food debris from between the teeth.
The brush is particularly useful for cleaning the back teeth.

Periodontal disease causes pocketing around the necks of the teeth.
Left undisturbed plaque bacteria thrive in these pockets causing the pockets to deepen.
A standard toothbrush is not able to access these pockets.
The TePe Interspace brush can access these pockets and disrupt bacteria.
Regular use will discourage disease-causing bacteria from accumulating.
